■ 順番・日付の言い方
序数 ： first , second , third...と「～番目（の）」を表す語を序数という。（one , two , three...を基数と
いう。）
first「１番目（の）」 second「２番目（の）」 third「３番目（の）」
fourth「４番目（の）」 fifth「５番目（の）」 sixth「６番目（の）」
seventh「７番目（の）」 eighth「８番目（の）」 nineth「９番目（の）」
tenth「１０番目（の）」 eleventh「１１番目（の）」 twelfth「１２番目（の）」
thirteenth「１３番目（の）」 twntieth「２０番目（の）」 twenty-first「２１番目（の）」
thirtieth「３０番目（の）」 thirty-first「３１番目（の）」
What's the date today ? 今日は何月何日ですか。
It's October 11 . １０月１１日です。
日付 ： 「今日は何月何日ですか」とたずねるときは、What's［What is］the date today ?と言う。答える
ときは〈It's［It is］+月+（日にちの）数.〉で表す。日にちの数はふつう序数で読む。

月の名前≪復習≫ ： 大文字で書き始める。
